Ian Steinberg joined the Sperber Denenberg & Kahan, P.C. team in May 2016. Mr. Steinberg appears regularly in Civil Court in Manhattan, Harlem, Brooklyn, and the Bronx representing landlords in both residential and commercial proceedings. This includes properties subject to various regulations, including the rent stabilization code, rent control law, and those subject to various section 8 subsidies.
Representation also includes supportive housing programs, HDFCs, Mitchell-Lama co-ops, and free market co-ops. Additionally, Mr. Steinberg defends landlords against lawsuits and code infractions issued by New York State agencies such as the DHCR, DHPD, and DOB.
Mr. Steinberg received his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, and his B.B.A. at the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University.
He is admitted to practice law in the state courts of New York and New Jersey as well as the New Jersey federal courts.
